Lubrication base oil
Lubricating base oils are used in the formulation of various types of products, with applications such as automotive lubricating oils. A lubricating oil’s quality requirements match the needs of the engine that uses it, considers economic aspects, and is linked to the environment. These requirements lead to a set of specifications for formulated lubricating oils, which are supplied, in part, by lubricating base oils. The final quality of the lubricating oil is completed by the use of additives, which have several functions, depending on the application.
