Petrobras' paraffin is obtained as a byproduct to prepare base oils and is acknowledged as one of the best in the world.

Although its most common application is to make candles, paraffins are present in several products, such as chewing gum, pharmaceuticals, cleaning products, matches, photographic films, a few types of paper and rubber, cosmetics, and they are even used to protect fruits and seeds.

Paraffins are sold by distributors as tablets or in bulk.

Our paraffins consist of a mixture of saturated, high molecular weight hydrocarbons and are obtained by refining lubricating oils. Their carbon atoms are arranged in open chains, only utilizing single bonds, and may be normal or branched chains. The high degree of refinement to which they are subjected causes their white color and excellent chemical stability.
