Focusing on accident prevention, we comply with regulations and adopt strict operating standards and procedures. We are also trained to operate safely and if there are any questions during the execution of a procedure, we are instructed to interrupt it immediately. Understand some of our actions:

Asset integrity management

We believe that prevention is the best way to solve eventual problems. With that in mind, we continuously monitor our assets – such as platforms, refineries, thermoelectric plants, dams, and gas processing assets – to ensure that they remain fit for purpose.

At determined periods of time, we also carry out scheduled maintenance shutdowns based on meticulous scope planning and necessary contracts. This procedure aims to maintain our operations' integrity and high level of reliability.

Zero Spills

In our activities, we produce and move large volumes of oil and its derivatives. For this reason, we adopt health and safety practices that, in addition to ensuring the readiness of our contingency bases, also seek safe and efficient responses to emergencies through the work of specialized professionals at local, regional, and corporate levels. Our ambition is to achieve and maintain a Zero Fatalities and Spills rate, as disclosed in our 2023-2027 Strategic Plan.

Environmental Defense Centers

To minimize the eventual impacts of emergency situations, our Environmental Defense Centers (CDAs) are always ready to act in cases of spills of oil, derivatives, or chemical products in water bodies. Our CDAs have specialized teams that are allocated throughout Brazil, and a complete structure to put Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) into action at local, regional, and national levels.

Commitment to Life Program

We reinforce our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) actions with the Commitment to Life program, which focuses on accident prevention, and we are always looking for new risk control solutions. The program was conceived based on the analysis of the basic causes of accidents that occurred in recent years.

The initiative reinforces our values through the commitment of the leadership, workforce training, inspection of contracted services, risk analysis of tasks and facilities, operational discipline, compliance with procedures, inspection, and maintenance.
