Petrobras VLS B24 Bunker: Quality and Sustainability to Explore the

Marine fuel containing 24% high-quality biodiesel meets the criteria set by the ANP and the requirements of the European Renewable Energy Directive.

With the goal of achieving a fair and safe energy transition, Petrobras is a pioneer and leader in Brazil in the development of a fuel to accelerate the decarbonization of the maritime sector.

 

VLS B24 is Petrobras’ marine fuel oil with renewable content, produced from a blend of 76% by volume of mineral bunker oil and 24% by volume of biodiesel (FAME – Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).

 

The biodiesel used is certified under the ISCC EU RED, meeting the strict sustainability and GHG reduction criteria established by the European Renewable Energy Directive. Additionally, it complies with the quality standards described in ANP Resolution No. 920 of 2023.

 

This product has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 20% and can be used in existing marine engines without the need for modifications.

The Bunker VLS B24 is the fuel for more sustainable navigation

Cargo and passengers can reach distant destinations using our marine fuel with renewable content. Refueling is carried out through bunkering services. We use barges or pipelines to serve vessels docked or anchored in Brazil’s major ports. We can supply both coastal vessels traveling along the national coastline and long-haul vessels operating along our coastline.

 

Petrobras B24 Bunker, which contains 24% renewable content, is one of Petrobras’ marine fuels. We also supply marine fuel oil, known as Petrobras Bunker, of the VLSFO (Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil) type. Another Petrobras fuel for vessels is marine diesel, known as Petrobras MGO (Marine Gasoil), of the DMA type, and Verana Diesel, for recreational vessels, which also contains a renewable component.
