Diesel Petrobras Verana was developed and tested under cruising conditions by Petrobras Research Center – Cenpes, with the highest technology and quality for modern engines that operate in pleasure vessels.

Free from the addition of biodiesel and flash point above 60°C, Diesel Verana has an exclusive formulation that promotes more stability and prevents the formation of deposits — associated with special high-performance filtration, which ensures the removal of any solid particles and water present in the product.
Approximately a 3% reduction in GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions, considering the entire product lifecycle, from extraction at the oil well to use in the vessel's engine.

The technology of Diesel Petrobras Verana
Diesel Petrobras Verana is a premium nautical fuel, developed with exclusive high performance formulation with better combustion quality, high stability and lower environmental impact. Therefore, it provides safe and comfortable navigation on pleasure vessels equipped with the most modern fuel injection technologies, which require a higher cetane number.
The fastest and most complete burning of premium diesel, provided by the higher cetane number (51 units, minimum), makes combustion more efficient and ensures better navigability with greater use of the engine's projected power.
As a result, it provides better performance and lower speed recovery times. Additionally, it protects the combustion chamber from waste formation and improves cold start.
Its ultra-low sulfur content (maximum 10 ppm) compared to marine diesel oil (maximum 5,000 ppm) and its high-ignition quality result in a lower emission of pollutants and white smoke.

Verana Diesel is now obtained through the co-processing of 95% mineral diesel (derived from petroleum) and 5% renewable raw materials (such as vegetable oils or animal fat). It provides approximately a 3% reduction in GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions, considering the entire product lifecycle, from extraction at the oil well to use on the vessel.

In reference to safe navigation, its exclusive formulation provides greater oxidative stability to the diesel, as well as the high flash point, above 60ºC, suited for the operation of engines in confined places, which have temperatures higher than those of the external environment.
For additional safety, Diesel Petrobras Verana does not contain biodiesel, which can accelerate fuel degradation over long periods of non-use.
Diesel Petrobras Verana has a maximum specific mass of 850,0 kg/m³ @ 20ºC, which guarantees the projected power and the reduction of emissions, providing a better generated energy/injected fuel volume ratio and contributing to adequate fuel consumption.

Verana Diesel is a marine diesel that contains a portion of renewable content in its composition, which may originate from vegetable oils and/or animal fat.
No. Both are produced from organic raw materials (vegetable oils and/or animal fats) and both are renewable. The basic difference between them lies in the manufacturing process: while biodiesel is obtained through the transesterification process, the renewable portion of Verana Diesel is obtained through the hydrogenation process, making it more stable and free of glycerins and other contaminants.
